Queen Mary in Longbeach California
We took a Halloween Tour on the Queen Mary. This ship is supposed to be haunted. The history of this ship went back to the war with Hitler. In fact Hitler put a hit on it for whoever sank it. The Federal Government painted it solid grey even the windows. The soldiers couldn't smoke outside for fear a submarine might see the light of the cigarette. The mission of this luxury cruise ship was transporting soldiers back and forth across the Atlantic. The Federal Government put top priority on this ship even above human life. Protect the ship at all cost. A cargo freighter saw it going in one direction and was not aware it sailed in a ZigZag pattern so predator ships could not get a good aim at it. The freighter kept sailing on course and when the Queen Mary cut back the other direction it cut the freighter in half and it sank. There were about 280 men if I remember right that lost their lives and Queen Mary couldn't help with survivors. By the time a rescue ship came by there was no survivors.
The ship doesn't have engines today and it is dock permanently at Long Beach. We went down below to view the gaping hole the cargo ship left and the guide said the ship is haunted with all those lost souls still today.??????
This is a bar or lounge on the ship and it's the most famous bar today. Poseidon Adventure was filmed here as was What women want by Mel Gibson. The list goes on and on.

Can you see me just under the orange stack

We were looking through the telescopes and wasn't aware the ship horns still sound off. We were standing directly beneath them and just about had a heartache.

We are on the mainland of Long Beach and that's the Queen Mary in the distance.

I found another lighthouse although this one was built to be a restaurant.

The picture above shows the crows nest on the mast. in rough seas the front of the ship goes under water all the way up to the crows nest. The lounge or bar is in the front of the ship and is evacuated during bad weather as the water will go into the lounge.
